Primele semne ale educaţiei consumatorului au apărut şi în rândul jucătorilor Ikariam. Conştienţi de faptul că fiecare click pe care îl dau în timpul jocului este monetizat, au început să-şi exprime nemulţumirile vizavi de bug-urile versiunii actuale 0.3.2. Mulţi jucători de elită intenţionează să se retragă, ca urmare a lipsei de respect cu care sunt trataţi de către administratorii jocului.
Având în vedere că şi în acest caz – banul este cel care dictează, jucătorii de Ikariam au decis să organizeze un protest faţă de versiunea 0.3.2. şi să nu mai acceseze jocul în perioada 13 – 15 ianurie.
Intr-un joc RPG, 3 zile de inactivitate contează foarte mult pentru dezvoltarea jucătorului. Dacă aş juca Ikariam, aş participa la această grevă – este timpul meu şi eu decid ce fac cu el, dar dacă tu câştigi bani de pe urma mea, respectă-mă.
” Hello, I am writing on behalf the Agenda da Maffia alliance, at present the strongest alliance on the Slovakian Beta server. I am addressing your alliance with an appeal, through which we want to change the new version of Ikariam.
In our opinion, the newly introduced 0.3.2 version is faulty, not only technically, but also conceptually. The bugs will probably be removed. However, we are alarmed by the decision of the game’s creators to alter the existing more or less balanced position of the attacking an defending players. At present we experience slower ships, situations when the pillaging of an undefended town (with higher walls) can last for several rounds. Even a minimal defending army can hold up a massive attack long enough to call in defensive reinforcements, even from a larger distance. Quick raids are thus impossible.
We think that the new combat system is also useless in situations when both the attacking and defending sides have massive armies of several players.
Epic battles, with thousands of fallen units, the sense of the game for many war-oriented players, also became impossible.
Instead, we witness situations, when most of combat reinforcements were sent in vain, as they are waiting to be included into the miniature battlefield. Large battles are unpredictable, as the most influential factor is the mysterious morale, which seems to develop quite independently from the flow of the battle. Even when using the „rotation battle system“ (rotating smaller armies throughout the battle), the battles are unbearably long, while the casualties are ridiculously low (providing the defender does not leave the battle or goes on a holiday).
In general, we are convinced that the new version favours the farming type of game, with lesser need for co-operation of players, making the game dull.
Many elite players are disappointed with these developments and are planning to leave the game. Many of us invested a lot of time, energy, some even money to this game, therefore we feel we have to try and save Ikariam. We decided to organise a protest against the faulty 0.3.2 version and take a 3-day Ikariam holiday, on 13-15th of January. We hope, this effort will become a massive protest on several servers and maybe the game creators will react.
